So today is day 8 of 140 days of Scott being gone. He is in Borden on a course (he is in the army), and when he is done he will be qualified to do his job and we will be making a little bit more money as well. This is the second time he has tried to leave me with the four kids, the first time was in October when he first went to do his course, I had just had the twins in August and he thought that I would be okay since my mom would be here to help (alot of help she was lol but I still love her to death, she means well!)Well about 3 weeks after he left I ended up in the hospital after having a major breakdown (I was diagnosed with PPD) and I had to call him back home. So he did the first 3 weeks which is good. Anyway, when he came home the army told him to take the rest of his parental leave (the idea was he would take 2 months off and go on course, then take the rest when he got back from his course) so that would take him to May.He asked the army if he could go on the February course, but alas they told him no because it was in the middle of his parental and they strongly urged (meaning told him without a choice) that he needed to take the rest of it. So he took all of it and we got some daycare for the kids (all four) which is subsidised by the government so we only end paying something like 30% of the cost and they pay the rest.So we had that set up in April for when he went back to work. It has been awesome having them in daycare because I can get alot of things done around the house that I cant get done when the kids are here.He is training to become an Electronic-Optronic Technician in the army, meaning that he fixes all the stuff that breaks down, like telescopes, binoculars, lasers, etc.He had joined the reserves when he still lived at home at 17, he met me when he was 20 and I was 18. When we had been together for a while I ended up getting pregnant with Chase, my oldest, he was an oops but the best oops ever! Anyway Scott joined the regular force as it was alot better pay and steadier work, meaning he would be working everyday for the rest of his life instead of only when the needed him.We lived in the basement at his parents house until Chase was 4 months old, at which time we moved to Borden in Ontario, where I got pregnant with Carson and had Carson, then he finished that course and we were posted to Gagetown in New Brunswick, where I got pregnant with the April and Aggie. After we found out we were having twins he asked to be posted back to Ontario so that we were closer to family to help with the kids. I love it here but I miss Borden, we bought a house and we need to fix it up before we move but when that is done we are going to ask to be moved back to Borden. Borden is only 2 hrs away as opposed to 7 hrs away from where we are now. We are in Petawawa which is near Ottawa. The army life is hard but totally worth it since the vacation time is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
